In the staircase of the Nationalmuseum we see this huge painting by Carl Larsson, Midwinter Sacrifice, from 1915. He appreciated very much this painting himself, but the world of art of that age did not. Disputes went on, until it was hung up on the wall for which it was intended in 1997.
