Our hand-made Sussex & Kent peg tiles are up to 200 years old. Colours vary from dark brown to orange to match an existing tile. A Kent Peg Tile is typically smaller than a Sussex Peg Tile. We also have ridge, bonnet (sometimes known as hip) and valley tiles to match. We also stock peg tiles suitable for tile hanging, not surprisingly, known as hanging tiles.
A French single nib tile is an affordable alternative to a Kent or Sussex peg tile. You can see from the picture in the gallery below that it is difficult to tell the difference.
An English alternative to a peg tile is a 10 and a ½ inch by 6
and a ½ inch hand-made nib tile. Again, colours vary to match an
existing tile and again, we have ridge, bonnet and valley tiles to
match.
Hand-made nib tiles are also available in an 11 inch by 7 inch size. Normally sourced from the north of England, these tiles are more plentiful and offer an inexpensive alternative to a hand-made 10 and a ½ by 6 and a ½ inch nib tile.
We are based on the Kent and East Sussex border about 10 miles south of Tunbridge Wells and we deliver to the whole of the South East including West Sussex, Surrey and South London. There may be a small charge to cover our costs, but with larger orders delivery is often included in the price. Call us on 01580 201258 for a quotation.
We are also really happy to deliver anywhere in Mainland UK and have even been known to ship worldwide!
Our yard is full of all sorts of reclaimed building materials. When we get items of special interest we try to take pictures of them. The gallery on this page contains an example of the reclaimed roof tiles that we have in the yard and some ideas as to how our clients have used these roof tiles. All the pictures in this site are from projects where our products have been used and are reproduced with the kind permission of our valued customers.
