Lanhydrock House, which is here seen in January 1987, is one of the finest houses in Cornwall, superbly set in wooded parkland. It was first built in the 17th century and largely rebuilt after a fire in 1881 - however the gatehouse is from 1651. The house is now part of the National Trust.
